The title of this blog post is not just a line from a song in Aida, but also my “new” motto. I say “new” because I have LOVED wearing dresses for a long time but haven’t heard the song until recently. “I would rather wear a barrel/Than conservative apparel/For my dress has always been/My strongest suit” and I completely agree. Almost no article of clothing makes me feel as in charge, fired up, sexy, confident, pretty, put together, prepared for any situation, or is as versatile. The perfect LBD can get you from work to happy hour to the club and back again. The LBD even has a wikipedia entry. :) Dresses come with pockets. Some have awesome details like exposed zippers.  They are flirty and feminine, but also sharp edged and professional. A dress can hide or highlight basically any aspect of my body depending on my mood. I will often bribe myself and say if I accomplish x goal then I can get y dress. Most recently, I bribed myself with this little number. I hit my running mileage goal for the week and “earned” myself the dress. I have tried to bribe myself with other things in the past like a special cheesecake or by donating a $1/mile to a charity, but nothing seems to work quite as well as the prospect of a brand spanking new dress.
