Yes, I got a square. Why? I’m not really sure. The actual square was free to get, the app is free to download, and I like to test stuff. That must be why. I have already come up with the below possible use cases….

• dinner with friends — split the bill yourselves rather than with the waiter and avoid messy cash/card disagreements
• on the spot nonprofit donations
• contributions to Steven’s campaign walking door to door
  
• paying the newspaper boy when he comes to your door to renew your subscription (too bad nobody reads print anymore)
  
• as a vendor at a craft fair or tradeshow
  
• when a friend owes you money but doesn’t have the cash to pay you back
  
• purchasing a group gift for a colleague
• as a plumber, or electrician, or tutor, or personal trainer who makes home visits
  

If you had a square how would you use it? As I test it out, I’ll write what I learn.
